I know what you’re thinking. Just what the world needs is another fitness blog! Well maybe not, but I’m going to do it anyway.
2ndLifeFit – I am a mostly reformed couch potato. Six or so years ago I started what I thought was a weight loss program but turned out to be a life-altering commitment. When I decided to take the plunge, I weighed in at 268 lbs. By the time the course started, I lost about 10 lbs on my own, and over the next year, I shaved my weight down to 168. That’s 100 lbs!!!
I got involved in cycling, triathlon and running to help keep me motivated. I also got interested in teaching fitness classes. So I took the time and invested the money to become a certified Spinning® and group fitness instructor. Circumstances turned in my favor and I was granted the opportunity to become an instructor for the very weight management program that pointed me in the right direction.
Thus was born my second life – in fitness! (Can’t tell you how unlikely that was!)
Since that time I have taught hundreds of classes, and extended my training to include Personal Trainer certification and the newer drumming oriented PoundFit®.
I plan on sharing my thoughts about running, training, weight management, the benefits of getting active, and whatever ridiculousness happens to be oozing from my noggin.
Get up – Get out – Get going!
